The ribs were mushy. The waitress knew I wasn't happy with the meal, and chose not to do anything about it. The burgers were pretty good.

Came here with huge group and they accommodated our seating perfectly. All of the food ordered was delicious. Lots of options to choose from and had a nice selection of drinks. Would return if back up in DC!

I was a bit hesitant to try Gibralter Grill because the reviews are mixed but I honestly believe this place deserves 5 stars! We had to wait a bit for paito seating but they showed us immediately to the outdoor bar and sent us a text when our table was ready- pretty high tech for Door County! We sat outside despite it being a chilly September night, but they gas lamps and blankets they provided kept us nice and cozy. My friend and I both got burgers, New Glarus beer, and cheese curds- all excellent. We felt right at home and stuck around on the patio for a few more beers after our meal because the atmosphere of Gibraltar Grill was right on.

Went into Gibraltar this past weekend and while they were just opening for the season, the BLT was pretty darn terrible. Iceberg lettuce with no taste, tomatoes that felt like they had been refrigerated for entire winter season and flimsy crappy bacon. Not good and overpriced. We live in the area for a part of the year, but are new to the area as well. Won't be making many repeat visits here. The service was good, which was nice. The kids enjoyed their meal, but chicken tenders is sort of hard to mess up.

I had the best local fish dish ever here! Roma, was super tasty along with homemade fried potatoes and grilled fall veggies! Will comeback! Ate outside under the blankets!
(4)AJ B.
Been here a couple times now and was pleased both times with service and food. Menu is pretty standard for a bar and grill - but food quality is a step up. Atmosphere is great and they have a pretty extensive beer menu. Not too much more to ask for here - will go back.

You get a lot for what you pay: the food is tasty and the price is right! I was with a larger party, there were 7 of us, and we were told an hour & a half wait, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was really only about 35 minutes. Everyone in our group loved their food! They also have a very nice outdoor patio / bar / sitting area. One negative: they only serve beer & wine so if you're a fan of mixed drinks, you're out of luck! I'd definitely go back!

Atmosphere B+ Food B Service C+ Lunch was pleasant, sitting out on the lawn and soaking in the sun and breeze. This place probably excels during happy hour, but the lunches we ordered were above average for Door County. Service was slow and somewhat in attentive. A patron should not need to prompt one's server for a refill on a beverage, but we needed to do that more than once. Biking in the sun is warm business and it isn't surprising that we were thirsty. I almost had the feeling that we were bothering our server.

Though initially turned off by the political campaign sign with an elephant on the front yard of this restaurant I decided hesitantly to give it a try. The hostess informed us that outside seating was full but that we could be seated inside. We asked if we could just wait at the bar for a spot to open outside and she said it could be a long wait.We asked if it would be ok if we sat outside anyway and she said we could wait at the bar.It was the end of July but pretty chilly out and they had heaters out at the bar and the outside patio which was nice along with blankets you could use to bundle up.I can appreciate a place that cares about the comfort of it's guests. We were seated outside at a nice table and I ordered a Greek salad as well as a blue cheese burger. The Greek salad was delicious and it came with the absolute best breadstick I have ever eaten in my life!It tasted like a buttery deep fried piece of doughy goodness. The burger was great too, it came on a ciabatta bun.For a side I ordered the sweet potato fries. They were good too, maybe a little on the thick side for my liking.I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the restaurant. The fire pit next to us was great and I really enjoyed the fact that this place is dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on the patio and the waitress even brings them water.Although we were vacationing without our dogs it made a great impression on me that they are so welcoming to them. After dinner we played some bean bag toss out in the yard which was fun. They also had giant jenga and other games for diners to enjoy. Overall I liked this place. The only recommendation I would make is to leave the politics out of it, it alienates some customers.

This is one place to avoid completely in door county. My wife and I were looking for a place to eat and all the other places were booked up with reservations. We decided to check out Gibraltar Grill since it was getting late and we had to eat. We were not impressed with the menu and just got appetizers to fill us up since it was getting late. First off, the beer glass had lipstick on it. Gross! Really, you cannot see a lipstick when you serve a glass with the beer? We got a sampler appetizer and it was ok. Nothing special. Could not wait to get out of the place. Will pass this one up next time in Door County.

Delicious bruschetta. Great place to sit outside and have a couple of drinks. Great variety of beers, cozy outdoor atmosphere. We'll be back. Probably tomorrow.
(5)Greg A.
Good food, reasonable prices. Great ambiance next to the fireplace, where it's a bit quieter, although it can be a little drafty in cool weather.

My husband, stepson, and dog (Tiki) were visiting from Arizona a couple of weeks ago and we really liked this place! They are very dog friendly and welcomed Tiki into the outside eating area with a bowl of water and a milk bone. They also took his picture to post on their website. I had the shrimp with risotto which was very large and very good. My husband had the pork tenderloin which had a panko bread crumb crust with cherry sauce on top. It was delicious. The atmosphere was casual and fun and the waitress was excellent!! After dinner, we played some of the lawn games they had out on the large lawn beside the restaurant. We highly recommend this restaurant.
(4)Ani G.
Service was good. The food was tasty. Dog friendly! Many people were in the outdoor patio with their dogs, and even in the screened in porch with them too. Chicken sandwich with Swiss and mushrooms was delicious as was the veggie burger (great spices and had a little kick!). The only problem was I didn't mention being vegan, and they buttered the roll on my veggie burger. The waiter offered me a new roll but I ate it without bread instead.

So this is on of those places you pass by and see its popular and lively, band playing lots of people and you assume this place must be THE PLACE. So after numerous visits to door county and passing it by decided to give it a try and unfortunately wish I had not. The service was perfectly adequate the food came out as those it was premade and tasted as though it was made yesterday. Nothing was well done on the menu that we tried. The wine menu is horrible and tasted as though the wine by the glass had gone bad. Won't return.
(2)Bill B.
Casual but don't let the simple first glance of the menu fool you. Very well prepared specials including steak and seafood. Fresh vegetables on point. Friendly, very present owner as well.
(4)Carri C.
We enjoyed our visit. Great how they are dog friendly outside. Nice patio. Good service. I had the Stromboli which was big, fairly tasty. My husband had the fish platter which he enjoyed. We got the appetizer combo--I would not recommend this---Guacamole was bland.
(4)Patricia O.
They think of everything here. We came with two kids (7,8) and a golden retriever (2) and it was perfect. App to tell us how long we needed to wait (or a text when the table was ready), outdoor games for the kids, a warm welcome with a treat and water for the dog, blankets for outdoor seating, entertainment great food, cold beer, impeccable service. We didn't get a seat by the outdoor fires, but on a kid/dog free night we would have. Highly recommended!!
(5)Jerry M.
Ordered the walleyed pike and my wife ordered a salad. Overall, the food was good but my walleyed pike was over cooked. It was breaded and deep fried to a dark brown and dried out. I should have sent it back but was hungry. Ate at bar due to an hour wait when we arrived.
(4)Jeff H.
We go to the Gibraltar Grill many times including last night. It was once again awesome. There 9 of us. We made reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. Then ordered food which came out quickly too. It was excellent. The guacamole burger was outstanding. Several did fish and loved it. My wife ordered salmon and loved it. Live entertainment from Cookie was great and lots of fun. It's just a fun, fun place. U can't go wrong.
(5)Kenneth W.
We stopped for dinner the other night. It was busy but they sat us at the bar. Try the cheese curds. They were some of the best we have ever had, especially the spicy ones. Ì had the stir fry which was very good. My wife had the chicken sandwich was good as well. Can't really judge the overall service sitting at the bar as the bartender really had nothing else to do than to attend to us.
(4)Ashley B.
This is one of my favorite restaurants to go in Door County. We are from Minnisota and have been coming up here for years to visit family and have always had great service and great food. Tonight really impressed us. With the 4th of July weekend, on-and-off rain / sun and a hour wait time they were very accommodating! We were sitting at the bar to wait for a table and they were telling us about the food specials while we waited. The bartender was also very attentive at the bar. When we were seated they gave us blankets because it was getting chilly which was so sweet! The waitress was also very attentive. We had the white fish special which was done perfectly done and very filling. The live music was great, and we saw the owner giving customers rides back to their hotels in the surrounding area in his golf cart. It was a great night and I completely recommend it!
(5)Andi S.
Stopped here for a lunch break in between shopping in Door County. Has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I had the BLT sandwich which had plenty of Bacon and the sour dough bread was a great pairing. My mother has the Gilbraltor burger and she loved it. I will definitely be back!
(5)Ron K.
we've been here for burgers before - very very good - this time I had fish sandwich - it was a paper thin amount of fish meat inside hard and overcooked breading - and too much/too thick of bread for this tiny amount of fish - a waste of money
(2)Timothy G.
Stopped in this weekend with my girlfriend. We had a few glasses of Cab and two outstanding Blue Moon Burgers. Great quality and delicious, you have to try it
(5)Dawn E.
Burger and fries earned a 4 1/2 but the sangria was kind of grape juice/cough syrup. Service was great and all the reviews were spot on with the nice blankets and warm heaters on the outside patio. Fun atmosphere.
(4)David S.
The food is very good, and I think a reasonable value for the most part. However, I felt the extra charge for lettuce and tomato on my burger was a little nickel-and-dimey. I had never seen that before. Our server wasn't able to answer some of the questions my mom and sister had about menu items (what comes with that? how is this cooked? is this a good wine? etc.), but he was friendly (unlike the bartender). I got there a bit before six and the place was relatively empty, so I didn't bother putting our name in since the rest of our party was running late. About 10 minutes later, the place was packed, and we were looking at a half hour wait for a table. My fault, lesson learned. You can be notified by text message when your table is ready. Yay, technology! The patio is really pleasant, and sometimes there are games out on on the lawn, so the kids can go play if they finish ahead of the adults and get bored.
(3)Kyle K.
I really enjoyed the food and this service was quick. I would recommend it to everyone.
(5)Jack T.
Excellent place to stop for lunch, anytime! We stopped following an excellent bike ride at State Park - GR8 restaurant location! Food was amazing as well as wait staff. Ate outside and LOVED the surroundings! Chairs by the fire pit, baggo, ladder golf - heaters and great lights all help to make a desire able day or night stop! BLT was super too!
(5)Golfboy K.
I love the people that try and blast this place on here. This is the best atmosphere in Door Co. The food was outstanding! If your in Door Co, expect to pay a little more but the price was well worth the live music by "Cookie" Loved every minute I was there!
(5)M. H.
We weren't sure what to expect with the Gibraltar Grill - but we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was!! We went for lunch and our plates were completely clean at the end. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive to our needs. It's a beautiful outdoor patio and a great view on a nice day! I would absolutely go back again once we are back in DC. Great experience!
(4)Blake B.
Not great not bad. Decent food. Decent service. Nice covered patio with fireplace.
(3)Danielle D.
Food was great and ambience is delightfully casual. They have an outdoor bar, large fire pit and lawn games to entertain before/after your meal or while you wait. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The Gibraltar Grill is one of my favorite places to eat in Door County. While I've only ever been there for lunch- the staff and owner go out of their way to make you feel right at home. Case in point. We stopped in on after a bike ride through Peninsula State Park. Tired, hungry and a little cold we took a seat on their patio to enjoy lunch. No sooner had we sat down when the owner came along and stoked up the outdoor fireplace and passed out warm fleece blankets to anyone who wanted them. Happy to have something to wrap around my bare legs (I was wearing shorts) my mood immediately improved and I was able to continue to sit outside enjoying the fall like weather. The servers were fun and playful adding to the overall experience. One of the guys in our party was wearing a Bears shirt and was taking quite a ribbing from our server as we had a disappointing match the Sunday before. But it was all in fun and made us feel like we ate at this restaurant every day. The food was good and reasonably priced. I've seen some of the other reviews and I don't get the expensive part. Lunch was about $15 per person and the sizes were huge. We had the perch sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich (both served with salads) and then two of their Summer salads with chicken added. The food was fresh, came up quickly and was served with a smile. Our iced teas were also refilled promptly. Nothing better than on a crisp end of Summer's day to sit outside by a crackling fire wrapped in a warm fleece and sharing stories with good friends. Gibraltar Grill is someplace you should definitely stop into on your next visit to "The Door".

Nothing really wrong with this place -- but it never seems to live up to its potential. Food is okay. Service is okay but a bit phony in its good cheer. But I keep expecting this place to have great food and service that would equal its location, setting and patio. And it always seems to just fall short.
(3)L. F.
Try the schnitzel or the scallops and risotto! Very delicious! The burgers are pretty good, too! Excellent choice of beers!! They have outside seating and a big fire pit surrounded by adirondack chairs.
(4)Shannon M.
We ate here while visiting Door County so I can only comment on one visit, but it was positive. This was a nice setting, good food (I had the pulled pork sandwich), and charming staff (our waitress couldn't have been sweeter). When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to sit indoors or out; since it looked like rain, we said in, but this room still had open (yet screened) windows, so you got fresh air. I was feeling rotten because of a cold, but the kind waitress still made an impression on me; for that kind of service alone I'd come back if visiting Door County.
(4)John R.
Best burgers in Door Counyt, hands down, no contest. Waitstaff is very attentative and the beer and wine selection is excellent. Also, this is a great music venue, and outdoor dining space is perfect. Overall a great place.
(5)Brian C.
Bar food in a visually nice setting with pleasant outdoor seating. My s/o and I drove by here almost a dozen times in our 2 trips up to the Door and the place always had people sitting outside, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, we discovered that there was not too much to it. The menu selection is somewhat limited and pretty much equivalent to something you'd find in better taverns. I'm not a beer drinker, so I can't comment on that. The photos are pretty much on the mark for what you get. $1.50 extra for fries instead of chips? I can see that, but it's kind of hard to swallow when you figure that most other establishments I'm aware of offer fries as standard with the sandwich (and at no extra charge.) The staff was friendly and I had no complaints. Aside from that, I just can't say that there was anything spectacular about the place to draw me back. The food was okay, just a little pricey. I think the outdoor seating and the location in Fish Creek is what draws people there. Unfortunately, I am not going back.

Love this place! Came in by boat and and was excited to find out Tom purchased a golf cart to shuttle people back and forth to the marina!! What a terrific idea! (Last year he personally drove us back to our boat in his truck) What a guy! I am surprised by some of these reviews on this place (although the bad ones are pretty old). So here is my take on it: To the guy from the 2008 review-Have you stopped by Copper's? I believe they charged us 15$ last year for a hamburger! The prices here are no more expensive the other local restaurants that serve more then fried cheese curds! We ate here two nights in a row. The first night we divulged in appetizers and shared a pulled pork sandwich. They have a wonderful bruschetta appetizer that will feed two easy. We also had the artichoke dip. The pork was tender and flavorful, not to mention huge. We had 3 glasses of wine and 4 beers (no mixed drinks served here) and our bill was only 52.00. It may not be McDonald prices, but it also isn't McDonald food. The rest of the menu offers several pasta dishes, salmon, salads and several other choices (not just bar food as one reviewer wrote.) The staff was very friendly and most accommodating when I requested a special pasta dish on our 2nd night. They have an outdoor seating area with a bar. There is also a fire pit and Tom is more then happy to offer you a soft blue blanket to keep the night chill away. The atmosphere is casual, yet has the feel of fine dinning. It is very relaxing after a full day in the sun. As a final note, if you normally take you s/o to the local drive through for dinner that includes free fries, maybe this is not the place for you.....................just saying.
(5)Linda Z.
If you enjoy over-priced, over-processed, "heat-and-eat" food, then this is the place for you! The hubs and I stopped here recently for dinner and found the food severely disappointing. NOTHING we ate was fresh or home made! The crab cakes we ordered as an appetizer had an unappealing color and texture, little flavor, and in my opinion, were certainly not worth the $11 price. Our entrees (pork schnitzel and chicken en croute) were served with instant mashed potatoes, a soggy, previously frozen vegetable medley of carrots, zucchini and summer squash and a highly over processed bread stick. The entire meal reminded me of food one might order from Market Day. Hubs had 2 beers and I had a glass of wine; total damage was $71. There are far better restaurants in the area for that kind of money! The best part of our experience was our server, Nancy. She provided outstanding service and was very personable.

Top. Notch. On previous visits to the Door, I have passed Gibraltar Grill, thinking to myself that this spot looked happening. It looked like it would serve up some excellent food. Sometimes, a restaurant is all looks and no legs. Gibraltar has good looks and definitely brains in the kitchen. Compliments to the chef, because every dish served to the table was amazing. Six diners ordered six different items, and none failed at packing a mighty flavor punch to the mouth. My fellow diners and travelers chose the following: sandwich special-BLT with fries; Tuscan Chicken Wrap with pasta salad; Hot Ham & Cheese with cole slaw; Mushroom & Swiss Burger with cole slaw; Southwestern Burger with sweet potato fries; Veggie Burger with sweet potato fries. Even the sides were impressive. These were not deli sides packaged in economy-sized containers from Sysco. Each item appeared fresh. The sweet potato fries came in a crispy wedge style that trumped its stick figure sibling. You can truly taste the sweet potato. You can taste the ingredients in every dish. The burgers were juicy. The chicken was tender and finely spiced. The veggies were bright and crisp. The breads--from the ciabatta to the multigrain--were delicious and fresh. I would like to know where they get them from. My hopes would be that they are made on site, but I cannot be greedy. I will take tasty plates above all else. I will be back to try more of what they have to offer. I anticipate a repeat of Gibraltar's superb culinary execution.

I hate to be negative, especially since I'm a local from Door County but... Gibraltar Grill is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY over priced. Seriously. If you have a family and are reading this review: forget this place. $10 hamburgers (cheese is extra) Great beer selection but be prepared to pay through the nose! I have visited the place since it's inception and unfortunately the prices have only gone UP! (Yes the food is pretty decent) but unless you're a retired CEO you should not bother spending such OUTRAGEOUS amounts of $$ here. Honestly the patio is beautiful, the interior well decorated, but the food is simply not worth the money. If you don't beleive me, go check it out, you'll wish you hadn't. (By the way: Tom if you read this: I'm sorry man but the public needs to know what kind of an operation you run!)

I loved this place. I read the reviews before our trip to DC and now that I've been there all I can say is - don't always believe what you read! The staff is perfectly pleasant and courteous, I loved everything I ordered (we ate here a few times during our stay), the outdoor seating area at night with the fire going and a glass of wine relaxing and peaceful. I spent a glorious week in DC with my mom, and we chose Gibraltar's as our "last night out". The general manager (Mike) said to us as we left, "Thanks for coming in girls, have a good night!" and I was convinced then that this must be the kind of place that they remember you and make you feel like a friend rather than just another patron. All 3 experiences were wonderful, and if you get the chance, you must go! AND - take my advice.....have the cherry bread pudding too. You will not regret it!!
(4)Gil N.
Great selection of beers and wine, good service, nice location. The cheese curds were great but the flat iron steak I had was lackluster. They had a "Wisconsin Beer Cheese" soup which was very interesting and quite tasty. I'd like to give them more stars but I was expecting a little more, especially considering their prices.

Good food, reasonable prices. Great ambiance next to the fireplace, where it's a bit quieter, although it can be a little drafty in cool weather.

I really enjoyed the food and this service was quick. I would recommend it to everyone.

Try the schnitzel or the scallops and risotto! Very delicious! The burgers are pretty good, too! Excellent choice of beers!! They have outside seating and a big fire pit surrounded by adirondack chairs.

Best burgers in Door Counyt, hands down, no contest. Waitstaff is very attentative and the beer and wine selection is excellent. Also, this is a great music venue, and outdoor dining space is perfect. Overall a great place.

Ordered the walleyed pike and my wife ordered a salad. Overall, the food was good but my walleyed pike was over cooked. It was breaded and deep fried to a dark brown and dried out. I should have sent it back but was hungry. Ate at bar due to an hour wait when we arrived.

We enjoyed our visit. Great how they are dog friendly outside. Nice patio. Good service. I had the Stromboli which was big, fairly tasty. My husband had the fish platter which he enjoyed. We got the appetizer combo--I would not recommend this---Guacamole was bland.
